  1. A few months ago I was talking with Rick and he was very excited about a new business plan he was putting into effect. A plan that would benefit us musicians as well as boost his business. I felt like I was talking with a guy who was new to the music business. By that I mean all on fire with his new plans and visions, not someone who has been in the business for almost 30 years!

I was really impressed with his excitement. It's easy, when you've been doing something so long, to rest on your laurels. Rick doesn't do that.

I have been playing music for over 40 years and I still push myself at all times even though I could slide at this point. But I won't and apparently Rick won't either. That's why when I recently made a rather large purchase, I decided to spend my money at Rick's rather than GC. The personal attention and appreciation I get at Rick's made it an easy decision.

Keep up the good work Rick!

  2. Kevin Hamblett from The Freeze Pops here. Back in 1989 I went to Rick's Music in Swansea for the first time. I wanted to be a rock star... ha ha. I was greeted at the door by Bob, still there today, and purchased my first bass guitar, amp, PA amp and SoundTech speakers.

Twenty years later I still visit the guys at Rick's as much as I can. You guys are great, always greeting with a smile, and always eager to help. I still purchase most of my equipment at Rick's. Seems like every holiday or birthday I get Rick's Gift Certificates! You guys are the best, knowledgable, experienced, and have become great friends over the years. Keep up the great work with the kids and keep the future musician of the world in those classes. I wish I could get to the open mic more, I've only heard great stuff about your Thursday nights. Again, thank you guys for all the help and influence you've given over the years and I look forward to doing more business with you in the future.

    Kevin Hamblett

  3. We started searching for a place for Mia our daughter to sing more frequently than a once a year a recital - upon a reference from a close friend we found Rick's Music World. What we found was more than a music store - much, much more. Rick Santos and his wife Robin run a beautiful music cafe, family music lessons and a wonderful music program including the famous Thursday night Open Mic. In the last three years we have met dozens of families and musicians and their families.

Rick and his staff are always there with a smile and the ability to listen - and then smile and help you out. Rick's Music World is a huge supporter of local music and more importantly supporting people. I think it's called "Giving Forward."

And regardless of who you are, or how well you play, or how old you are, or how young you are - everyone gets a big round of applause - everyone. What a great place for honest entertainment. 5 of 5 stars.

  4. I've been doing business with the wonderful folks at Rick's Music World for more than 20 years. Of course, integrity, excellent staff, service, pricing and selection helps, but what keeps us loyal are the lasting relationships that are quickly formed. The entire staff truly cares about their customers, the music scene, the community, and have always gone above and beyond...something you won't get online or in the "supermarket" stores. Here's to another 20 years!

  5. Where do I start? When you love writing and playing music as much as i do, you crave acceptance, applause, encouragement etc. Unfortunately, these are some of the hardest things to find. However, at Rick's, these are hard things to get away from. I've been playing the open mic at Rick's on and off for about three years, and no matter how much time I take between visits, Rick, Robin and the rest of the staff are there to greet me with open arms. Rick and Robin have also made it a personal goal of theirs to help me further my music career. Trust me when I say, you can't ask for more than that. There are lots of different places to buy your musical gear, and a million places you'll find a thursday night open mic...But you'll only ever find me at one. Rick's is Home!

  6. The two words that come to my mind when I think of Rick and Robin Santos, their entire team, and "Rick's Music World" in general are PEOPLE and COMMITMENT!

Commitment to music and the performing arts, performers, musicians, community, education, value, customers, their internal team, business, technology, environment, morals, ethics, etc.... I could go on and on!

Rick's is way more than a music store; much more than a building and a place where you can buy intruments or take lessons.

Rick's "gets it" and their team guides you though the entire cyle from your first instrument, to teachning you to become one with your instrument, to live performance, to recording and marketing your artform!

It's really easy to understand why Rick's is still going strong after almost 27 years in business!

THANKS for everything, and congrats on your 27th anniversary!

  8. I've been a loyal customer of Rick's since day one--at the original Rick's Music in Seekonk. It really is amazing how Rick and Robin and the entire staff "get it" about music and its importance to kids, families and "Weekend Warriors" like myself! Their music education program is second to none. It's so awesome to be at Rick's checking out some gear and see many. many kids of all ages smiling as they walk through the door--on their way to their lessons.I don't recall that as a kid!!
Thanks for all you do for all of us!

  9. It is rare indeed to find a well-run business that doesn't focus on business! At Rick's the focus is on people and music... and it is done so well and with such warmth, that the success just follows. As soon as you enter you can feel the love of music that is evident in everything from the instruments, the lessons, the incredible weekly open mic, and every person that you come in contact with. There is no place else to consider for your music purchases. I am blessed to be a part of the World's Most Functional Family of Rick's Music World!! I love you all, Tom Irving
